  • Minimum Wage (But not the Living Wage) Increase from Today

Minimum Wage Rates for Workers

Aged 24 and Under Increase

The minimum wage increased today, but only for some workers – those not entitled to the National Living Wage Rate.

As always though, it doesn’t necessarily apply from today, only from the start of the next Pay Reference Period that starts from today. This means, if you pay staff from the last working day of the month, until the penultimate day of the month, the new rates wouldn’t be due until 31st October.

Whenever it does apply, the new rates are:

  21 to 24 18 to 20 Under 18 Apprentice Living Wage
New Rates £6.95 £5.55 £4.00 £3.40 £7.20
Old Rates £6.70 £5.30 £3.87 £3.30 (Not affected)
