Minimum Wage To Increase by Up To 4%
The Government have today confirmed that they are accepting the recommendations of the Low Pay Commission: the national minimum wage (NMW) will increase between 1.1 & 4% from 1 October 2011.
The NMW rates from October will be:

| 16-17 year-olds | 4p (1.1%) | £3.68 |
| 18-20 year-olds | 6p (1.2%) | £4.98 |
| Over 20’s | 15p (2.5%) | £6.08 |
*the apprentice rate applies to apprentices under 19, or in the first year of their apprenticeship
